Emperor – Empire of Trebizond
The Empire of Trebizond or flourished during the 13th
through 15th centuries, consisting of the far northeastern corner of Anatolia
and the southern Crimea. After the sack of Constantinople Alexios declared
himself Emperor. It was one of the three Byzantine successor states to claim
the imperial throne, and it would survive the longest of the Byzantine
successor states. Trebizond would last until 1461 when the Ottoman Sultan
Mehmed II conquered it after a month-long siege.
Pretender –
There are several pretenders to the throne but the one with best right is the
head of the Georgian Royal House, H.R.H. David Bagrationi Mukhrani.
